International study programmes in English
We organise English modules for incoming students in a number of study fields. Below you will see that we have quite an extensive offer, many of them are new. For the other study fields you will negotiate a suitable programme consisting of study and project assignments, often leading to a final work or thesis. Please contact the departmental coordinator.

February - May 2011
A multidisciplinary integration of contemporary challenges and international perspectives in professional behaviour and functioning.
- Global challenges (Climate change, North-South relations, sustainable development...)

New!! Business Management
February 2011 is the start of a Business Management semester in English.
Spring semester:
- Thorough study of management accounting
- Training on international business, with a focus on International Trade and European Institutions
- Introduction on the key Business-ICT alignment topics SAP and Business Intelligence/Corporate Performance Management, with a hands-on project
- An elaborate marketing focus, including B2C and consumer psychology
- Financial analysis
- Business communication in English
- A multi-disciplinary module on Global challenges and cooperation, with additional focus on global communication (course module for all international students at K.H. Kempen University College)
- Excursions to the port of Antwerp and the European Parliament are included

NEW!! Office Management
September 2010 is the start of an Office Management course in English. It comprises a semester of courses and a semester of placement.
First semester:
- Thorough study of business communication, English and French or German
- Introduction to business economics through courses on international business, virtual enterprises, business projects and a work placement
- Training of technical skills such as word processing and computer applications
- Corporate social responsibility issues
- Assistance on personal development of office management competences
Second semester: placement in a multinational company, and SME or a public organisation
NEW!! Project Entrepreneurship
The student starts in a group his own fictional company in a protected environment (formula of SBP). In the project the student designs the mission and objectives of the company , develops a product or a service (with a link to the domain Electricity), organizes a market research, develops a marketing strategy, keeps the accounts ... In short, with the project the student learns to run an enterprise in a playful manner. The project is closely related with the course of management of a company.
Spring semester - 5 ects
International Microbiology Module (IMIB)
From 2010 onwards K.H.Kempen University College organizes an international module in microbiology. It runs for the first time from February 2010 till June 2010. Application deadline 15 November 2009.
The module is taught in English and consists of courses and a placement in a microbiological environment. The courses will take place during 3 full weeks and later 2 days a week. The rest of the time will be practical work in a microbiological laboratory of a company, hospital, university…...
Five course units will be organised, a total of 30 ECTS credits can be obtained.

The international class for teacher education
Together with three other Flemish University Colleges Katholieke Hogeschool Kempen organizes an International Class. The class consists of 2/3 international and 1/3 Flemish students. The programme consists of a three-mlonth period of lectures, self-study and teaching practice. In the course of the programme 20 ECTS can be obtained.
After a period in which the international students are introduced to the host city and to the Dutch language, courses in English will be organised around four themes. School-based practical experience is part of some modules of the programme.

Flanders Tour: International Nursing-Midwifery Programme - On Diversity and Unity
The programme consists of six themes offered at different University Colleges in Flanders.
