Admission to Belgium
Residence permit
Citizens of EU countries can enter Belgium without a visa or residence permit. For a stay of three months or less EU members only need a valid passport or identity card. All our international students are expected to register at the Town Hall within 8 working days after arrival. You will have to inform the Town Hall administration of your temporary address in Belgium. Therefore you should inform with the international officer, who will help you with all registrations.
WHAT STUDENTS SHOULD BRING
EEA students (European Union, including Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein)
- your identity card or passport;
- a proof of solvency or proof of scholarship (Erasmus Grant)
- the official forms that prove you are affiliated with a health insurance in your home country and which is valid in Belgium (EHIC: European Health Insurance Card)

- your “proof of enrolment” at KHKempen
non-EEA students
- your passport, with “Authorisation for provisional sojourn“ (student visa) if required (for stays longer than 3 months)
- for those who do not require a student visa: a proof of solvency or proof of scholarship
